Privacy Policy

Scan Cam has no account, no sign-up, no server of ours, no analytics and no advertising. Your documents stay on your phone and are sent nowhere. The only thing that leaves the app concerns the subscription, and nothing else: it is described below.

Your documents stay on your phone

The pages you scan, the files made from them, your folders and your signatures are saved in the app’s private space, on your iPhone. They are passed to no one. If your iPhone’s iCloud backup is on, they are backed up along with the rest of your phone, by Apple and under Apple’s rules.

The camera

The camera is used only to photograph the documents you scan, at the moment you ask for it. The images are written straight onto your phone.

Your photos

The app reaches your photos only when you choose to import one to make a document from it. It never goes through them by itself, and it never writes anything into your camera roll.

Text recognition

The text on your pages is read by your iPhone itself, with no connection. The contents of your documents are never sent to an outside service to be analysed.

When you share

A document leaves your phone only when you tap Share yourself, and it goes to the app or the person you name at that moment. What they then do with it falls under their own rules, not under these.

The subscription

The subscription is sold and billed by Apple. Your payment method is known to Apple alone: the publisher of Scan Cam never sees it.

To know whether you are subscribed, the app asks RevenueCat, a service that keeps subscription status up to date. It receives your purchase and an anonymous number it makes up itself — never your name, never your email address, never a single one of your documents. That is the only information that leaves the app, and it serves only to unlock what you have paid for.

Erasing your data

Deleting a document in the app erases it from the phone. Deleting the app erases everything it held. As your documents were never sent anywhere else, there is nothing else to erase concerning them. For your subscription status, see “Your rights”, below.

Your rights

European data protection law gives you the right to access the data concerning you, to correct it and to erase it. As your documents are on your phone and nowhere else, you erase them yourself. For the subscription information held by RevenueCat, write to pierremunozfrance@gmail.com: it will be found and erased on request.

Who publishes the app

Scan Cam is published by Pierre Trochet. For any question about this page or about the app: pierremunozfrance@gmail.com.

Changes

This policy may change if the app changes. The version in force is always the one shown here. Last updated: 28 August 2026.
